Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
Detect WP Plugin ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our web application at detectwpplugin.com.
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information to operate the service:
- URLs you submit — The website URLs you enter for scanning. These are processed in real-time and are not stored in a database.
- Usage data — Basic analytics such as page views, scan counts, and general geographic region (country level), collected via Cloudflare analytics. No personally identifiable information is collected.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information.
- We do not store scan results or URLs after the scan is complete.
- We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. How Scans Work
When you enter a URL and click "Scan", our server makes a request to that publicly accessible website on your behalf. We analyze the publicly available HTML, CSS, and HTTP headers to detect WordPress themes, plugins, and hosting information. This is equivalent to visiting the website in a browser.
We only scan publicly accessible pages. We do not attempt to access password-protected areas, admin dashboards, or any private content.
4. Third-Party Services
To power our detection, we use the following third-party services:
- WordPress.org API — To fetch theme and plugin metadata. No personal data is sent.
- Groq API — To enrich plugin and theme descriptions using AI. Only theme/plugin slug names are sent, never personal data.
- Cloudflare — Our hosting and CDN provider. Cloudflare may log basic request data per their privacy policy.
- ipinfo.io — Used to identify hosting providers from IP addresses. Only IP addresses of scanned sites are sent, not your IP.
5. Data Security
All data transmission between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. We do not store sensitive data, and our infrastructure is hosted on Cloudflare's secure global network.
6. Children's Privacy
Detect WP Plugin is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
